Research Assistant - 0.75 working-time

Your responsibility

Participation in the DFG collaborative project “Full-photon statistics of collective effects and exceptional points in semiconductor nanostructures.” The goal of the project is the comprehensive experimental and theoretical characterization of photon statistics as well as collective emission effects (e.g., sub-/superradiance) and non-Hermitian phenomena such as exceptional points in innovative resonator structures. To this end, deterministically integrated QD-resonator systems are being developed and modeled in close collaboration with theoretical approaches to systematically explore their physical properties and application potential.

Your profile

  • successfully completed scientific university studies (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in physics or similar courses
  • in-depth knowledge and practical experience in nanophotonics, particularly with semiconductor quantum structures
  • experience in epitaxial growth (ideally MOCVD)
  • Knowledge of nanofabrication (e.g., electron beam lithography, etching processes) and the design of photonic devices
  • experience in optical and quantum optical spectroscopy, particularly micro-photoluminescence and correlation measurements
  • Good knowledge of German and/or English required; willingness to acquire the respective missing language skills.
  • Ability to conduct independent scientific research and to analyze and interpret complex experimental data is desirable.
  • Ability to work well in a team and willingness to collaborate closely with experimental and theoretical partner groups is desirable.
  • excellent written and spoken English skills is desirable
