The Cluster of Excellence UniSysCat is a steadily growing cluster of excellence in the natural sciences in Berlin and Potsdam, in which more than 300 scientists in approx. 60 working groups are currently conducting joint and interdisciplinary research in the field of catalysis, which is extremely important for the national economy.
In addition to the TU Berlin, the Freie Universität Berlin, the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, the University of Potsdam, the Fritz Haber Institute of the Max Planck Society Berlin, the Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces Potsdam, the Charité Universitätsmedizin Berlin and the Leibniz Institute of Molecular Pharmacology as well as the Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin are involved in this research network.
The UniSysCat office has a vacancy for a Data Science Officer for Research Data Management (RDM).
Working field:
- Consolidation and networking of all research data activities within UniSysCat, also in the context of the National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI) initiative
- Conception and development of a web interface for the presentation of the research data relevant activities of the nine supporting institutions
- Establishment and further support of an electronic laboratory journal that is ideally suitable for all working groups involved in UniSysCat and that can be adapted to specific subjects
- Contact person for all questions in this context
- Medium-term establishment of a homogenized procedure regarding research data in UniSysCat (Best Practice)
- Conception, management and implementation of strategic goals and measures relevant for UniSysCat in the area of RDM
- Establishment of internal and external communication and networking structures
Requirements:
- Successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent)
- Relevant experience in the coordination of scientific working groups
- Professional experience in research data management or in the field of Big Data
- Experience in the conception and support of complex IT structures
- Knowledge of relevant tools and programming languages (R / Python)
- Strong management and communication skills as well as profound experience in working with technical teams
- Ability to work in a team
- High degree of initiative and independence
- Very good knowledge of German and English, both written and spoken
- A doctorate is desirable, preferably in natural sciences
You enjoy communicating with different working groups and can mediate between scientists and infrastructure working groups. You have a vision of how interdisciplinary research data management can succeed, are happy to present your knowledge in workshops and lectures in a way that is understandable to the target group, and, thus, create research data management in the Cluster of Excellence that supports researchers in their work and takes into account the sustainable availability of results and the FAIR idea.
