Research Assistant - 0.5 working-time - salary grade E13 TV-L Berliner Hochschulen

Working field:

  • Deliver teaching inputs to design studios (Bachelor and Master in Architecture, Master in Urban Design), preparation and delivery of lectures, seminars and study trips on international urbanism.
  • Assist in the drafting and delivery of academic research proposals with following focal points: sustainable urbanization in the global context, people-centred and process-oriented urban transformation.
  • Assist the Chair in conceptualising and delivering teaching assignments, in the management of research projects and other organisational tasks at the Habitat Unit.
  • Assist the Chair in preparing publications


  • Successfully completed University degree (Master, Diploma or equivalent) in architecture, urban design or related disciplines.
  • Relevant experience in the practice of urban planning, urban design and/ or architecture
  • Research and/or professional experience in international contexts, preferably outside of Europe or North America
  • sufficient language proficiency to teach classes in both German and English is expected
