Working field:

  • Positioning and presentation of the Cluster of Excellence and its work internally and externally.
  • Communication of scientific content at the interface of society, science, economy and art in a way that is appropriate for the target group and reference group; this includes:
  • Generally understandable creative presentation and communication of complex scientific content for the general public in the field of catalysis.
  • Conceptual, editorial and creative editing of websites and social media channels
  • Conception, organization and implementation of public events
  • Creation of information materials such as flyers, brochures and newsletters
  • Media and press relations: preparation of press releases, press concepts and internet information, organization of press conferences and press tours
  • Maintaining contact with journalists and the press offices of the universities and institutes involved in UniSysCat
  • Preparation and support of delegation visits from Germany and abroad


  • Successfully completed scientific university studies (master's degree, diploma or equivalent) in the natural or technical sciences, ideally in one of the disciplines of the Cluster of Excellence, or in science journalism with a focus on the natural sciences
  • Relevant professional experience in science communication and PR, in particular proven skills in the application of science communication tools and methods (including storytelling) as well as flexibility, creativity and courage to use innovative communication formats
  • Practical experience in planning, organizing and implementing events
  • Experience in the conception and implementation of social media strategies
  • Excellent German and English language skills as well as a very good ability to express yourself (verbally and in writing)
  • High degree of independence and ability to work in a team
  • Comprehensive software knowledge: MS-Office package, CMS preferably Typo3, image editing and illustration programs (desirable)
