Research Assistant - 0.6 working time - salary grade E13 TV-L Berliner Hochschulen

0.25 working time until 31/01/2025

Working field:

We are looking for a research assistant to carry out a research project on the development of circular load-bearing systems made from recycled building materials:

  • Further development of concepts for the procurement and reuse of reclaimed wood as load-bearing components in the construction sector
  • Carrying out and analysing experimental studies to assess the reusability of waste wood
  • Derivation and development of a standardised procedure for use in the construction sector
  • Further development of multidimensional assessment approaches under sustainability aspects for circular planning and realisation, application to research results
  • Conception and realisation of a mobile demonstrator

The aim is to extend the project and the position to a total of 24 months.


  • Successfully completed academic university degree (Master's, Diploma or equivalent) in the field of architecture
  • In-depth knowledge of circular design and construction methods from research and practice
  • Very good understanding of evaluation approaches according to aspects of sustainability and circularity
  • Experience in the conception and realisation of 1:1 prototypes, demonstrators
  • Good knowledge of German and/or English required; willingness to acquire the respective missing language skills.


  • Interest in interdisciplinary collaboration with civil engineers
  • Craft experience in the field of timber construction, good knowledge of materials
