Tech­ni­sche Uni­ver­si­tät Dres­den (TUD), as a Uni­ver­sity of Excel­lence, is one of the lea­ding and most dyna­mic rese­arch insti­tu­ti­ons in the coun­try. At the Faculty of Com­pu­ter Sci­ence, Insti­tute of Sys­tems Archi­tec­ture, the Junior Pro­fes­sor­ship in Com­pu­ter Sci­ence, spe­ci­fi­cally Tac­tile Com­pu­ting offers for the Clus­ter of Excel­lence Centre for Tac­tile Inter­net with Human-in-the-Loop (CeTI) a posi­tion as

star­ting as soon as pos­si­ble. The posi­tion is limi­ted until Decem­ber 31, 2025. The period of employ­ment is gover­ned by the Fixed Term Rese­arch Con­tracts Act (Wis­sen­schafts­zeit­ver­trags­ge­setz - WissZeitVG). The posi­tion offers the chance to obtain fur­ther aca­de­mic qua­li­fi­ca­tion (e.g. PhD). Balan­cing family and career is an important issue. The Junior Pro­fes­sor­ship in Com­pu­ter Sci­ence, spe­ci­fi­cally Tac­tile Com­pu­ting con­ducts rese­arch in the fields of model-based design, qua­lity assurance and exp­lai­na­bi­lity of intel­li­gent cyber-phy­si­cal sys­tems and self-adap­tive sys­tems. In par­ti­cu­lar, new algo­rithms and models will be deve­lo­ped to enable opti­mal and safe human-machine col­la­bo­ra­tion through mutual adap­tation: sys­tems should adapt to humans and situa­ti­ons, and pro­vide appro­priate explana­ti­ons to enable users to assess and adapt to the sys­tem beha­viour.   • rese­arch in at least one of the above areas
  • deve­lop­ment of case stu­dies
  • publi­ca­tion and pre­sen­ta­tion of results at inter­na­tio­nal con­fe­ren­ces
  • close coope­ra­tion with aca­de­mic and, if app­li­ca­ble, indus­trial part­ners
  • pro­ject-rela­ted super­vi­sion of stu­dent the­ses.

Erwartete Qualifikationen:

uni­ver­sity degree (Dipl., M.Sc.) in com­pu­ter sci­ence, mathe­ma­tics or a rela­ted disci­pline; know­ledge of at least one of the above-men­tio­ned rese­arch areas and their theo­re­ti­cal foun­da­ti­ons; good Eng­lish skills and very good sci­en­ti­fic wri­ting skills; struc­tu­red, reli­able and inde­pen­dent working.
