Master thesis candidate (m/f/d) in the field of chemical- and environmental-/disposal technology

Working field:

As part of your Master thesis within this cooperation, you will examine the effects of the new EU "Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation" (as of 24.04.2024 or newer) on the chemicals and equipment business of mks MSD (Atotech). This includes, among other things, the detailed evaluation of the regulation and linked regulations therein. Furthermore, you will correlate your findings with the individual processes at MSD, evaluate the impact, and propose measures. You will work closely with various functions such as production, research & development and supply chain.

Your responibilites

  • Understanding and evaluation of the new EU "Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation"
  • Understanding Production, Warehouse and Distribution processes of a chemical company
  • Determine the impact of the new PPWR on the aforementioned processes
  • Proposing a catalogue of measures to achieve compliance with the new PPWR

Requirements:

What you bring to the table

  • You are in the final phase of your Master's degree, but haven’t yet graduated, in chemistry, chemical engineering, recycling technology, chemical and environmental technology, environmental protection and waste disposal technology or a related field of study
  • Very good communication skills in English and MS Office skills
  • Analytical and conceptual way of thinking, paired with results-orientation and strong quality awareness
  • Confident and authentic interaction with colleagues at eye level
  • Interest in packaging of hazardous chemical products and relevant regulations
  • 5-6 months time and the willingness to move to Berlin for this time (if you are from out of town)
  • Remuneration: 820 Euro/month; before the contract is given, we need the registration for the master thesis of your university
