Student Assistant - AI & Data Solutions

Tasks

Are you curious about how AI can make a real‑world impact beyond the tech industry? We at MSF Germany are looking for a Student Assistant to join our Data Engieering and Analytics team. In this role, you will gain hands‑on experience working with AI tools and systems while supporting meaningful humanitarian work. You will collaborate with diverse teams across MSF, help turn practical challenges into smart, responsible AI solutions, and learn how technology can be used ethically to support the work at our Berlin office.

In your role you will

  • Support the exploration, testing, and integration of AI‑based tools that address real operational needs at MSF
  • Assist in translating user and team requirements into AI use cases, prototypes, or technical concepts
  • Conduct desk research on AI trends, tools, and best practices relevant to humanitarian and non‑profit contexts
  • Help document solutions, workflows, and learnings in a clear and accessible way for non‑technical stakeholders
  • Collaborate with colleagues from different departments (e.g. IT, data protection, fundraising, communications,…) to support responsible AI adoption
  • Assist with presentations, internal communications, and knowledge‑sharing related to AI initiatives
  • Support ETL/data tasks and data driven report creation

Requirements

  • Enrollment as a student for at least one more year in a technical, analytical, or related field with an interest in AI and digital technologies (please indicate the expected remaining duration of your studies in your application)
  • Strong interest in AI and digital technologies, and curiosity about how they can be applied in a responsible and ethical way
  • Solid understanding of AI concepts, data, and software tools, with hands‑on experience through studies, projects, or internships
  • Structured and reliable working style, with good documentation and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in an international and interdisciplinary environment
  • Very good English skills; German is an advantage but not required

What we offer

Salary: 15,10€ per hour + 13th monthly salary
6 weeks holidays per year plus days off on 24. and 31.12.
200€ bonus at the start of the employment
