Field Installation Engineer (f/m/d)
Install and maintain AI edge hardware at customer sites across Europe
Tasks
- Prepare and install full edge setups: cameras, compute nodes, and networking components
- Configure devices, test connectivity, and verify data flow from edge to cloud
- Develop and use automation scripts for faster installation, calibration, and verification
- Troubleshoot and resolve on-site issues across hardware, network, and software layers
- Coordinate component sourcing and logistics with the operations team
- Ensure every installation meets reliability, safety, and performance standards
Requirements
- 3+ years in industrial hardware installation, systems integration, or field engineering
- Strong practical experience with Linux, networking, and device configuration
- Familiarity with edge computing, camera systems, or IoT deployments
- Proficiency in Bash or Python for setup automation and diagnostics is a plus
- Comfortable working independently on customer sites (domestic and international travel)
- Valid driver's license required to transport equipment and conduct installations
- Must be able to occasionally lift 30kg+
- Full-time only, this role does not fit a part-time or Werkstudent structure
